Althea is delighted to announce that Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has signed a managed maintenance service contract for 33 items of Radiology equipment including MR, CT, ultrasound and mammography. The three-year managed maintenance service covers all hospital sites – Chesterfield Royal, Whitworth, and Buxton Hospitals – and was procured via the North Of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative.
In addition to providing cost savings and guaranteed service levels through a single multi-supplier maintenance agreement, our service utilises the optimal combination of original equipment manufacturers (OEM), independent service organisations and in-house engineers; all managed by the Althea Service Centre (ASC).
ASC is a single point-of-contact for all maintenance issues, proactively and efficiently managing the selected service providers ensuring that the Trust is provided with records management, efficient preventative maintenance planning and prompt rectification of equipment faults. Using an established computerised maintenance management system ASC provides the Trust with bespoke quarterly performance reports which detail service levels versus key performance indicators.
The service includes the extensive in-house CT and MR maintenance capabilities of Althea – the pan-European leader in independent multi-vendor maintenance solutions – and an MR at Chesterfield will be maintained by Althea engineers. Althea has significant in-house expertise with high calibre ex-OEM engineering staff, as well as a UK parts stock backed by a multi-channel global supply chain.
Althea’s Business Development Manager commented, “Asteral is excited by the ongoing expansion of its business and is delighted to have Chesterfield as a customer. With Althea we hope to provide the NHS with every available option to ensure value for money is optimised whilst guaranteeing quality.”
Andrew Loveridge, General Manager at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, added, “Althea’s offer gave us some invaluable options. Althea’s pricing structure allowed us to pick and choose the cover levels for each item of equipment, ensuring a bespoke offer that meets clinical needs whilst optimising value for money.’
